Backwash filter

A backwash filter is a self-cleaning filtration device designed to

remove impurities and particles that accumulate on the filter

medium through reverse flow, thereby restoring filtration efficiency

and extending the filter's service life. This filter can automatically

carry out the cleaning process without the need for manual intervention

, ensuring the continuous and stable operation of the filtration system.

Specifically, when the backwash filter is working, it first intercepts solid

particles, suspended solids and other impurities in the liquid or gas to

be treated in the filter medium (such as filter screen, filter material, etc.)

through the normal filtration process, so that the clean fluid passes

through and flows out.

 

The working principle of backwash filter

The backwash filter works as an automatic and cyclic process that cleverly combines filtration with self-cleaning. In the normal filtration stage, when the liquid or gas to be treated passes through the filter medium, the impurities are effectively intercepted and trapped on the medium, and the clean fluid is smoothly drained. Over time, impurities accumulate gradually, resulting in a decrease in filtration efficiency and an increase in pressure differential. At this point, the filter's built-in monitoring system automatically detects this change and triggers the backwash procedure. In the backwash phase, the filter closes the channel of normal filtration and instead introduces the cleaning fluid for backwashing. This reverse flow design strongly scour the filter medium, stripping the attached impurities and discharging them with the cleaning fluid. After the cleaning is complete, the filter automatically returns to the normal filtering state and continues to perform its filtering task. The whole process is automated without manual intervention.
